What Is Solar Term?

The Healing Touch

A solar term is a traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar that matches a particular astronomical event or signifies some natural phenomenon. Each solar term (14 or 15 days) suggests the position of the sun travels 15 degrees on the ecliptic longitude. A cycle is the earth revolving around the sun for once (a year). The twenty-four solar terms begin from the beginning of spring (Li Chun) and end at greater cold (Da Han). It originated from China approximately 5000+ years ago and then spread throughout Korea, Vietnam, and Japan, including countries in the East Asian cultural sphere. Although each term was named based on the seasonal changes of climate in the North China Plain, people living in the different climates still use it with no changes. This is exhibited by the fact that traditional Chinese, Hanja, and Kanji characters for most of the solar terms are identical.

the 24 Solar Terms

On December 1, 2016, the 24 Solar Terms (二十四节气) were inscribed by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This recognition celebrates the Solar Terms as a living system of knowledge passed down through generations—one that reflects the changing seasons, climate patterns, and human adaptation to nature.

Developed over 2,000 years ago, the 24 Solar Terms divide the year into 24 sun-based intervals, guiding agricultural activities, daily routines, and health practices. They continue to influence how we dress, eat, live, and care for our well-being—offering a timeless rhythm for living in harmony with nature.

Our aren't just beverages - they're functional wellness tools, crafted with centuries of herbal wisdom.

They help with issues such as dampness, heat, fatigue, sluggish digestion, and blood deficiency.
